THE SPACE ADVENTURES
OF
GARFIELD AND ODIE
By Mi'Lexus and Kala

In this project:
In this project me and my partner had to communicate over e-mail or by chats, and this was because our partners were in different classes. We both had to make a comic based on our astronomy unit. After we made the comic we had to make a quick time slideshow out of our comic. But before we made our comic we had a week to do some research on planets, small bodies, and certain things outside of our solar system. Lastly by doing this research we learned more about how and what the things in our solar system work/do.
8th Grade Science Standards Covered:
4. The structure and composition of the universe can be learned from the study of stars and galaxies, and their evolution.
- Galaxies are clusters of billions of stars, and may have different shapes.
- The sun is one of many stars in our own Milky Way galaxy. Stars may differ in size, temperature, and color.
- How to use astronomical units and light years as measures of distance between the sun, stars, and Earth.
- Stars are the source of light for all bright objects in outer space. The moon and planets shine by reflected sunlight, not by their own light.
- The appearance, general composition, relative position and size, and motion of objects in the solar system, including planets, planetary satellites, comets, and asteroids.
